A. Introduction
This section provides instructions for Field Offices (FO), Teleservice Centers (TSC), Regional Offices (RO) and Processing Centers (PC) when general status requests for payment arise.
B. Procedure for Follow-up Request Process
1. Telephone Follow-up and Status Requests

For the FO and TSC:
For assistance with routine cases, call the Department of the Treasury’s (Treasury) general number (855–868–0151).
For problem cases, contact the Regional Office (RO) or Processing Center (PC).

For RO Analysts and PC Operations Analysis Staff (OAS):
Call the Treasury team telephone numbers for assistance. Do not call the Treasury analysts on their direct telephone numbers. Calling the team number ensures that calls are logged for workload tracking, and that every request receives attention.
To inquire about the status of credits returned to SSA, RO Analysts and PC OAS Staff may call 202-874-8252.
2. TFS-3864 Follow-up Form
Although this form is still accepted by Treasury, SSA's use of this form should be limited to status or follow-up of a non-critical nature since the Robinson class action suit shortened the timeframes in which SSA has to respond to beneficiaries.
For critical cases, follow-ups should be handled by querying SSA's system, asking your RO/PC to query Treasury's Check Payment and Reconciliation system (CP&R), or by calling Treasury's customer assistance numbers (GN 02406.137B.1.a. above).
