It is very important to send an overpaid person a proper and timely notice as required by law.

Because of the great variety of possible notices, the great sensitivity of many of the situations, and court decisions affecting overpayment cases, refer to the appropriate sections of GN 02201.000 through GN 02280.000 for specific content requirements.
