SI 00502: SSI Alien Eligibility

TN 8 (10-00)

A. General language about deeming

Paragraph SAD001

Let us know if (1) have enough money to get food and shelter. If this happens, we may change the way we count certain income and property of (2) when we figure the amount of (3) SSI checks.

Also let us know if:

  • (4) sponsor dies;

  • (5) a U.S. citizen; or

  • You think (6) may have 40 qualifying quarters of work.

    According to SSA records, you now have (7) qualifying quarters. If (8) spouse or parent has qualifying quarters, we also may be able to count them. We cannot count any quarter acquired after December 31, 1996 if (9) received certain types of federally funded assistance during that quarter.

Normally, we will stop counting the income and property of (10) if (11) a U.S. citizen or (12) 40 qualifying quarters of work. But we will count any income or assistance (13) (14) (15)
