DI 23022: Processing Quick Disability Determination (QDD) and Compassionate Allowances (CAL) in the Disability Determination Services (DDS)

The disability determination services (DDS) selects experienced adjudicators to participate in the Compassionate Allowances (CAL) and Quick Disability Determinations (QDD) fast-track processes using the following criteria:

  • knowledge of the Social Security disability programs, particularly the Listing of Impairments; and

  • case development and case management skills, with particular emphasis on meeting processing time and quality standards.

NOTE: DDS administrators determine if CAL and QDD adjudicators require any additional experience.
