Procedure

Contrary to the title II procedures, in concurrent title II/XVI claims, do not initiate medical development from special sources unless the DDS requests that you to do so. Instead, document the folder to alert the DDS to the special arrangement situation(s). You can do this by documenting the SSA-3367-F4 or by placing an RC in the file. The DDS will decide whether the evidence is needed and whether the FO could be instrumental in obtaining the medical evidence.
