A. DEFINITION
Advances are payments by an employer to an employee for work to be done in the future.
B. POLICY
Such payments are wages if:
the employee does all or part of the work; and
the employer accepts the employee's work as payment for the advance.
Credit advance payments when paid by the employer, if the above criteria are met.
