RS 00615: Computation of Monthly Benefits Amounts

A. BACKGROUND

Effective January 1979, remarried widow(er)'s are entitled to the full rate. Prior to January 1979, remarried widow(er)'s were entitled to half of the PIA or the MSSR.

B. PROCEDURE - MSSR INVOLVED

Recompute the remarried widow(er)'s rate based on the PIA (including DRCs) and compare with the MSSR. Pay the higher rate.
