Ordinarily, accumulated benefits of less than $4,000 will be included with the initial payment. Accrued benefits of any amount may be released if:

1. The beneficiary is the NH's natural child (or adopted child if adopted in the U.S.) and the payee is the child's natural parent (or adoptive parent if the child was adopted in the U.S.) with whom the child is living; or

2. The payee is a social agency or corporate legal guardian or trustee; (i.e., a court-appointed bank or other incorporated financial institution); or

3. The payee is the spouse of the beneficiary with whom the beneficiary is living.
