A. Introduction

Custodians of birth/baptismal records issue false or misleading certifications for a variety of reasons. Thus, special rules apply to certifications from these records.

B. Policy

1. General

SSA does not use a baptismal certificate as evidence of age unless it has been verified by FBU.

EXCEPTION: Baptismal records issued by the custodian of lixiarchika vivlia records are evaluated under the criteria in GN 00307.520B.

2. RCC Records

SSA evaluates RCC baptismal certificates under GN 00307.105A.2.d. only if the certificate actually shows that it is an RCC record or that the baptism was according to the Roman or Latin rites. Otherwise, SSA handles it under GN 00307.522B.1.
