A. General
Information may be available from the consulate which served the area in which the claimant lived if the claimant ever
- Filed for West German Social Insurance Benefits,or 
- Filed for indemnity payment, or 
- Was asked to testify about atrocities committed by the Nazis. 
B. Procedures
Take the following actions when a claimant states the he/she ever contacted the West German Embassy or Consulate in connection with the Holocaust.

| 1 | Ask the claimant where he/she lived at the time of the contact. | 
| 2 | Consult the list of consulates below to determine to determine which one to contact. | 
| 3 | Request authorization from the claimant to contact the consulate | 
| 4 | Request the consulate to verify that the claimant is a survivor and to certify the age shown in the consulate's record. |
