A. General
Information may be available from the consulate which served the area in which the claimant lived if the claimant ever
Filed for West German Social Insurance Benefits,or
Filed for indemnity payment, or
Was asked to testify about atrocities committed by the Nazis.
B. Procedures
Take the following actions when a claimant states the he/she ever contacted the West German Embassy or Consulate in connection with the Holocaust.
Step | Action |
---|---|
1 | Ask the claimant where he/she lived at the time of the contact. |
2 | Consult the list of consulates below to determine to determine which one to contact. |
3 | Request authorization from the claimant to contact the consulate |
4 | Request the consulate to verify that the claimant is a survivor and to certify the age shown in the consulate's record. |
