RM 10225: Special Requests - SSN

Processing SSNs can involve unusual circumstances, including:

  • Applicants living outside the United States,

  • SSNs for adopted children,

  • SSNs on behalf of deceased individuals,

  • Correcting Numident records to facilitate IRS tax return processing, and

  • Replacement cards for prisoners.
