A. Policy

Recovery of an SVB overpayment will not be pursued when the average cost of recovering the overpayment equals or exceeds the amount of the overpayment.

B. Procedure

Overpayments of less than $30.01 result in a systems-posted uncollectible determination, and no overpayment notice is sent.

Waive recovery when a person liable for an overpayment of $500 or less requests waiver alleging without fault, if there is no evidence of fault on the part of the liable person apparent on the face of the waiver request. If there is evidence apparent on the face of the waiver request that the liable person may be at fault, continue with full waiver development.
