A. Exhibit Letter
We are writing to tell you that we plan to stop your payments because we learned from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that you have been deported or removed from the United States under one of the following sections of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA):
section 241(a) of the INA in effect prior to April 1997;
section 237(a);
section 212(a)(6)(A).
If You Disagree With The Decision
Please tell us within 30 days of the date of this letter if you disagree with this decision. You will also need to give us any proof that you were not deported or removed under any of the sections of the INA shown above. If we do not hear from you within 30 days, we will stop your payments. We will send you another letter at that time with more information about our action.
Things To Remember
Please contact us if in the future you are permitted to return to the United States as a lawful permanent resident. We may be able to pay benefits at that time.

B. Requesting Instructions
The PC will write to each beneficiary subject to nonpayment explaining that DHS has notified SSA of the deportation or removal and that payment of benefits is precluded. The letter to a living NH should indicate that the non-payment will continue until such time as the NH is lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence.

Use Form SSA-L2000-C2 (Universal Notice) and follow the notice standards. Information for this notice will be shown on Form SSA-573.
