A. General

Instructions in GN 00904.060 and GN 00904.064 for handling RSDI claims material in change of address and nonresident cases are generally applicable to foreign claims. See GN 00205.170 for additional information.

B. DIO is New resident office

If there are no RSDI beneficiaries or claimants in the United States, or Canada and a claim is pending, complete all outstanding domestic development and forward the pending claims file to DIO.

C. Claimant or beneficiary returns to U.S.

If an RSDI claimant or beneficiary returns to the United States and the claim has been adjudicated, the resident DO will receive a photocopy of the most recent award. If a claim is in process, the resident DO will receive the incomplete claims file from DIO.
