DI 52135: State Specific Public Disability Benefit (PDB) Procedures

BASIC (09-08)

Hawaii established a Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) program in 1969. State law provides for a TDI benefit for up to 26 weeks based on non-work related disabilities to a disabled worker. This TDI benefit is a recognized reverse offset plan and will not cause offset of DIB.

A. Imposing offset

Do not impose offset based on the receipt of Hawaiian TDI payments.

Code the case with offset type “REV JURISDICTION” (RJ) per DI 52105.001E.3.
