DI 11020: Childhood Disability Benefit (CDB) Cases
BASIC (07-08)
Take a new CDB application on the Modernized Claim System (MCS) along with the SSA-3368-BK and SSA-3367 in the following situations:
An initial claim for child's insurance benefits is filed, the child is age 17 1/2 or older, and alleges a disability.
A subsequent claim for child's insurance benefits is filed, the child was correctly terminated at age 18 or later, and the child is now filing based on a disability that began after the prior benefits were terminated.
A subsequent claim for child's insurance benefits is filed, the child was terminated at age 18 or later, and the child is now filing more than 4 years after the termination, based on a disability that began prior to termination.

NOTE: If the number holder (NH) is filing for Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB) or Retirement Insurance Benefits (RIB), defer taking and developing the CDB claim, like the other auxiliaries, until the NH is found disabled or the RIB is adjudicated.
